The NTIPDU is another step closer to ensuring nationwide availability with the accreditation of a new training centre.

A1 K9 is a specialist dog training company based in West Glamorgan in the heart of the Welsh countryside.

It was started and is run by Charles Wall and his partner, Gaynor Probert, the two of them having had many years experience in owning, training and handling a wide variety of dogs. Most other members of their own team come from either ex Police, ex Military or working trails backgrounds and with all this experience on tap, it is therefore not so surprising that they are widely regarded as a premier canine training company within the U.K.

With SIA legislation only a matter of months away, the NTIPDU aim to offer training for all current and potential security dog handlers within their own locale. It is a huge task for the NTIPDU, finding the right centres with the ability to provide all the necessary facilities and commitment to maintaining the standards by adhering to a strict curriculum will not be easy but with the urgent need for nationwide conformity and centre approval inspections which are conducted at no cost to the centre, this goal will be achieved.
