It is with great
regret that I write this page to honor a very kind and gentle man,
Maurice Harvey, who sadly passed away on Saturday 14th May 2005.
Although Maurice has
been a part of the NTIPDU family for only a few short months, he has left
those of us who met and knew him with the desire to have known him
longer.
For those who were
not fortunate enough to have met Maurice, a brief profile of his
achievements can be seen below.
All of us in the
NTIPDU wish Maurice's partner Kath and his family our whole
hearted sympathy and support, the NTIPDU will always be here for you.
When people like Maurice pass away, a bit of the good in the industry is
lost. Maurice enriched so many people's lives and will live on forever
in the thoughts of so many.

Harvey Profile of Achievements
|
Located in
Stockton-On-Tees, Maurice Harvey owned and ran Harvey's Helpful Hounds.
After leaving the
RAF, where he was an instructor within the dog school at RAF Newton,
Maurice's life became centered around working with dogs, for 20 years he
trained and worked with search dogs within Mountain Rescue and conducted
numerous searches and 'call outs'. In 1987 he attended the Lockerbie Air
Disaster but as part of the National Organisation SARDA.
Maurice had a great
understanding of working with dogs and used his skills to promote the
well-being, understanding and acceptance by the general public.
In search of
recognition, Maurice approached the NTIPDU for assistance, we visited
his training facilities and conducted a full inspection, giving Maurice
the guidance needed to become an NTIPDU centre, 1 month on and Maurice
had everything in place to meet the uniformed standard of the NTIPDU.
On Thursday 13th
January 2005, Maurice received his Centre Accreditation, which was
presented to him by Mike Welply Master of the Guild of Security
Professionals.

Rest In Peace our
Gentle Friend
