Alan Martin former Head of Standards, Skills for
Security joins the NTIPDU as Standards Advisor.

Alan Martin, formally Head of Standards
at Skills for Security, is now Standards Advisor for the NTIPDU.
Alan has moved on from Skills for
Security to widen his horizons working with occupational standards,
training and qualifications. His knowledge and experience of defining
occupational competence will be invaluable to those who believe standards
and competences are as important as qualifications.
Alan
originally joined SITO in October 2002 and was responsible for the
development and promotion of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and
related products, including qualification frameworks and assessment
strategies. Alan worked closely with industry partners through various
Steering and Working Groups to develop the standards to ensure that NOS
meet the needs of the Private Security Industry and the criteria of
regulatory authorities. In addition, Alan works towards providing the
security industry with first class standards for specifying occupational
competence and aims to encourage industry partners to use these standards
as a way to develop the competency of the security industry workforce.
